The revised event schedule in 2020 meant that, for the first time, winners of the NSCA Championship Tour, Powered by Winchester, were not determined upon the finale of the National Sporting Clays Championship in October. The Southeast Regional Championship was held following the National Championship, December 9-13, finalizing the points race and determining winners.
Congratulations to Bill McGuire, 2020 NSCA Tour HOA Champion, and other winners in each concurrent and class. Concurrent winners include Karen Shedd, Lady; Turner Parcell, Sub-Junior; Joseph Fanizzi, Junior; Andy Duffy, Veteran; Bert Stelly, Super Vet; and Jim Bellows, Senior Super Vet. Class winners are Derrick Mein, Master Class; Larry Thorne, AA Class; Tristan Stubbs, A Class; Jared Burgett, B Class; Cody Vacha, C Class; Chelsea Bajjali, D Class; and Jonathan Rumbarger, E Class.
Points were earned from three events at a total of six tournaments for 2020: the Main Event, 5-Stand event, and FITASC event at the five Regional Championships and the National Championship. At Nationals, the Krieghoff Kup replaces the 5-Stand event. The U.S. Open is normally a Championship Tour event, but that tournament was a pandemic casualty last year and thus not part of the Tour results.
An earlier version of the Championship Tour winners was posted briefly and included errors due to an incorrect calculation. Also, Junior Champion Joseph Fanizzi was incorrectly listed in the Open category rather than his concurrent’s championship. According to our rules (which follow our All-American calculation process), positions in Open or Lady categories will have precedence over concurrent categories when making more than one team, unless the top shooter is Champion of the concurrent category; then the shooter will be given the Captain position. We apologize for the errors and are happy to announce the corrected placements.
