The NSCA Executive Council announces a new initiative to enhance women’s awareness and enjoyment of sporting clays, increase female membership in NSCA, and increase female participation in NSCA registered competitions through a shooting grant program.
The Executive Council and staff of the NSCA consider outreach programs targeted toward women shooters to be a timely and worthwhile initiative. Sporting clays is a great lifetime sport for all ages and genders, and currently women are under-represented. The Executive Council recognizes that meaningful participation and advocacy of women shooters is a critical component to our growth and long-term success as an organization.
“Successful outreach programs that attract, retain, and develop women sporting clays shooters will enhance our association membership, benefit member clubs, and foster family, social and competitive sporting opportunities. We recognize and appreciate the opportunity for substantial growth and development in this demographic,” says the EC.
The NSCA Marketing Committee and Executive Council will consider thoughtful, well-developed applications from any appropriate organization, program, club, or event seeking support for initiatives that fulfill the grant program’s goals.
Successful grant applications will demonstrate how their organization’s efforts and specific programs will help achieve the three goals. Grantees will be required to document and codify program results in a meaningful way and share their findings with the NSCA. These metrics and results will play a critical role in assisting the NSCA in its ongoing outreach efforts to support women shooters.
To apply for a grant, applicants should fill out the 2023 NSCA Women’s Shooting Grant Application and a separate proposal to include your organization’s structure, mission, objectives, program details with budget assumptions (proposed use of funds) and measurements for success and impact.
Deadline to apply for 2023 grants is July 21. Grants will be reviewed by the NSCA Executive Council and Executive Director. If approved, grants will be awarded in amounts from $1000 – $5000. Grant funds will be distributed by NSCA annually in the form of reimbursement upon proper submission to NSCA of receipts, documentation and cooperative marketing media, i.e., photos, videos, and an event/program result summary.
