The NSCA Executive Committee has approved an update and clarification to tournament rule VII-B-7 regarding the use of electronic and recording devices during competition. Updated Rule VII-B-7 now states:
“During any registered event, while in the shooting stand shooters may not use any devices capable of recording, transmitting, or displaying live video [or] images, providing or allowing verbal feedback, or transmitting any other information. The wearing of, mounting of, and use of such devices during competition is prohibited.”
This revision expands and clarifies the previous rule language to address evolving technology and ensure fairness and consistency across all registered events. Previously, the rule stated, “The use of micro cameras mounted on shotguns or any optical aiming device is forbidden.”
This update reinforces the NSCA’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of competition by prohibiting all forms of electronic assistance or communication while in the shooting stand.
