Selection to the NSCA USA Sporting Clays Team is the highest annual honor earned by NSCA members, allowing them to represent the association and the USA in international competition. USA Sporting Clays Team designation is determined by points earned in a series of selection shoots.
Five teams each are selected for Sporting Clays and FITASC: Senior, Lady, Junior, Veteran, and Super Veteran. For Sporting, five (5) members are selected to the Senior team and three (3) to concurrents. For FITASC, four (4) members are selected to the Senior team and three (3) to concurrents. One alternate is named for each team.
The 2022 NSCA USA Sporting Clays Team members will be determined by the 2021 shooting season. Qualifying for a position on the USA Sporting Clays Team is based on points earned at a shooter’s top four USA Sporting Clays Team selection shoots.
The points calculation for USA Sporting Clays Team is your score divided by the HOA within your concurrent category. For example, if you are in the Senior category and your score is 178 and the HOA score is 197, you would earn 0.90355 points. If you are in the Lady concurrent and your score is 160 and the HOA Ladies score is 170, you would earn 0.94117. You may compete in as many of the USA Sporting Clays Team Selection shoots as you wish, but only four scores as defined below will count toward placement on USA Sporting Clays Team.
Please read carefully, as there is a difference in the shoots required to qualify for the Sporting vs. FITASC team.
