Sponsor a USA Sporting Clays Team Member

January 28, 2025 By Sherry Kerr

With both major international events — the World English Sporting Clays Championship and World FITASC Championship — being held in Europe in 2025, the USA Sporting Clays Team is facing a funding challenge this year to cover high travel costs. To make it possible for the team members to be fully funded as they represent the NSCA and USA in international competition this year, NSCA is encouraging members and fans of the team to sponsor a team member.

USA Sporting Clays Team Manager and NSCA Assistant Director Nichole Bowers is leading the campaign to gain sponsors for the team:

Dear friends,

Selection to the USA Sporting Clays Team is the pinnacle of NSCA achievement. The support of our shooting family allows 40 of the best competitors to represent the United States this year at the World English Sporting Clays and World FITASC Championships.

In 2025, we will continue to recognize our best Sub-Junior shooters by maintaining the new Sub-Junior Team category in Sporting. At this time, there are no other Sub-Junior Teams for our Sub-Juniors to shoot against in World competition; however, they will be shooting as individuals at the 2025 World English Sporting Clays Championship.

This year, both teams will be traveling abroad to compete and represent the USA. The World English Sporting Clays Championship will be held at E.J. Churchill in England, July 12-19, and the World FITASC Championship will be held at Kornos Village in Cyprus, July 24-27. In years like these, we need the support of members like you more than ever to help ensure the best shooters in the world will be able to represent the United States. This year it will cost roughly $3,500 to send a USA Sporting Clays Team member to a competition. We do not believe it is fair or acceptable to only partially fund the Team members’ participation, given their hard work, dedication, and the resources they have already expended to make the team. It is also unfair to spend money to the point that it will affect next year’s Team.

Our “Sponsor a Team Member” fundraising campaign has been very well received since 2021, so we are again looking for people to sponsor a 2025 Team member’s effort to bring home the gold for the USA. A generous donation of $3,500* will cover an individual member’s trip to a world championship, and you will receive recognition for your support. The USA Sporting Clays Team is also a 501(c)(3) organization, which makes your donation tax-deductible.

If you cannot fully sponsor an individual member, a tax-deductible donation of any size is valued and appreciated. Also, if you know of others who might be interested in supporting our goal of allowing the very best to represent our country, we encourage you to share this information with them.

To join our effort, please contact Nichole Bowers at 210-688-3371, extension 255 or nbowers@nssa-nsca.com.

On behalf of the USA Sporting Clays Team, I thank you in advance for your consideration of this opportunity.

Best Regards,

Your NSCA Executive Council:
Mark Baltazar – Chairman, Sammy McFaddin – First Vice Chair, John Calandro III – Second Vice Chair, Brett Seibert – Secretary, Chris Higgins – Parliamentarian, Tim Miles – Past Chairman; Mike Anderson, Desirae Edmunds, Neil Chadwick, Steve Greene, Dan Lavergne, Anthony Matarese, Jr., Gary Prince, Kevin Smith, Bert Stelly, and John Townsend.

*In the case that a sponsored team member does not utilize the full donation, the remaining balance will be used to help fund those not sponsored.
