Issues With Classification Processing Software Are Resolved

We believe the issues with our classification program have finally been resolved, and we are now starting to input shoots. Classification Changes Effective January 1, 2025

Members and clubs are reminded that several changes in NSCA classification took effect on January 1, 2025. Here is a summary of classification changes for this year: Starting January 1, 2025: NSCA has removed E Class. All members in E class for both 12-gauge and sub-gauge will be moved up to D class and start with zero (0) punches. A new member who has never shot any registered clay targets will be assigned Class “C.” (Old rule was assigned Class “D.”) Starting January 1, 2025: New punch requirements to punch up in 12-gauge class. The following criteria will be used for the end-of-year review process, which will be taking place the week of January 20, 2025. 12-Gauge Classification: ONLY shooters who started and ended the year in the same class and shot a minimum of 500 registered targets or more are eligible for end-of-year review. At its January meeting, the NSCA Executive Council proposed three separate rule changes related to classification, European rotations, and rotation of squad positions, and the NSCA Delegates have approved all three proposals. The NSCA Delegates have approved eight rule changes. Below is a recap of the changes that are now in effect. Rule additions/changes are in red. Sub-Gauge Classification #1. NSCA will conduct the annual end-of-year review during the week of January 16, 2023, to determine classification of members for 2023. New Sub-Gauge Classification Now in Effect

New Sub-Gauge Classification Now in Effect

Effective January 1, 2021, all designated sub-gauge events have a separate classification system. This is one class for all the sub-gauges combined, not a separate one for each gauge. A sub-gauge event will be defined as any event, except 16-gauge, that is not 12-gauge and that is smaller in diameter than 12-gauge. For these purposes, “12-gauge event” means any event designated as 12-gauge or any general event that doesn't specify gauge. In case a 16-gauge event is held, it will classify as a 12-gauge event. Two NSCA Rule Changes Approved

NSCA National Delegates recently voted on two rule changes, and both were approved by a majority of the Delegates. Both rules will take effect on January 1, 2021 for the 2021 shoot year. The new rules and the vote count for each are: Rule #1 - Sub-Gauge Classification Creation of a separate Sub-Gauge Class System - Starting January 1, 2021, any sub-gauge event (defined as any event using a shotgun that is not 12-gauge and is smaller in diameter than 12-gauge) would have a separate class system.
