The Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) has announced that the CPSA World English Sporting and Sportrap Championships will return to the world-famous E.J. Churchill Shooting Ground, having last been hosted there in 2018. The Championships will take place from June 8-14, 2020, (Rescheduled for July 5-11, 2021) and will include two world championships, one each for the disciplines of English Sporting and Sportrap (5-Stand). FITASC Grand Slam to Replace World Cup, Grand Prix Events
NSCA is launching the NSCA FITASC Grand Slam, a four-shoot series that will crown the 2019 NSCA FITASC Champion, as well as National Concurrent Champions. The four events will replace the FITASC World Cup and Grand Prix events, which are being eliminated from the NSCA Championship Tour due to an unexpected and very significant fee increase from the F.I.T.A.S.C. organization. USA, Bobby Fowler Are World English Champs
The USA swept the major awards at the 2017 World English Sporting Championship, with Bobby Fowler winning top individual honors as World Champion and USA Sporting Clays Team members winning each concurrent. 917 shooters from 17 countries competed in the event, April 25-30 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas. Fowler and George Digweed entered the Super Final in a tie at 189; followed by Gebben Miles, Bill McGuire, and Ben Husthwaite at 185; and Derrick Mein and 2016 World Champion Anthony Matarese at 184. Anthony Matarese Brings World Championship to USA
Anthony Matarese Jr. has become the first American ever to win the World English Sporting Championship, taking the individual Gold Medal last week on the E.J. Churchill Shooting Grounds in England. Matarese finished the regulation main event with a three-target lead and held the margin through the six-man super final shoot-off to earn the World Championship. Mike Wilgus also qualified for the super final and finished the competition sixth overall. USA Sporting Clays Team Earning Medals at World English
The USA Sporting Clays Team has claimed its share of medals in every event to date at the World English Sporting Championship, ongoing at the legendary E.J. Churchill sporting grounds in England. USA dominated the podium in the FITASC event. Bill McGuire won the event with an impressive 94, while Kevin De Michiel bested sporting legend John Bidwell in a shoot-off of outstanding 93s.
