We are very saddened to report that Don Snyder, former NSSA-NSCA Executive Director, passed away Wednesday, May 30. Don was a World Champion skeet shooter, many-time All-American, and a member of the Armed Forces Skeet Association Hall of Fame. After retiring from the Air Force, Don began working for NSSA and the National Shooting Complex, filling numerous roles over the years. He served as NSSA Chief Instructor, managed the NSCA 5-stand truck and trailer program, and was the personnel director for the National Shooting Complex. Legacy Left by Lynn Miller of Cajun Elite
Lynn Miller of Jennings, Louisiana, passed away on June 15, 2018. He was the owner and operator of Cajun Elite Shooting Club for 11 years, hosting numerous high-profile shoots including the 2008 U.S. Open Sporting Clays Championship, the annual Browning/Briley Mardis Gras Open, Louisiana State Championship, Cajun Cup, and others. Fredia Steen Passes
Fredia Steen, a long-time NSCA member, passed away on June 12, 2018. She and her husband, Harold, enjoyed 18 years of participating in many sporting clays events. They enjoyed not only the scenic travel to events but the fellowship and friendship of the other sporting clays enthusiasts. 10 State Shoot Host Clubs Awarded Grants in 2018
Ten NSCA member clubs who will be hosting state sporting clays championships in 2018 have been selected to receive $2,000 NSCA grants. The clubs applied for the grants and proposed enhancements to their events that the grant would fund. The winning clubs will enhance their state shoots by upgrading their awards packages, improving their facilities and/or courses for the event, adding hospitality options, and other features.
