Apply for $5,000 NSSA or NSCA Scholarship
Active NSSA and NSCA members who will graduate from high school this academic year are invited to apply for one of the eight $5,000 scholarships that will be awarded to deserving students this year. Four scholarships will be presented to NSSA members and four to NSCA members. The scholarship program is open not only to students pursuing a four-year degree but also to students attending two-year colleges and technical colleges. K-80 Raffle Winner Announced
On Friday, October 28, during the Top Gun Shoot-Out at the National Sporting Clays Championship, a drawing was held for the winner of the Krieghoff K-80 raffle. Congratulations to Bill Wilford of Musella, Georgia, who was drawn as the winner of the gun, and he will have his choice of a K-80 Pro Sporter, Sporter, or Parcours model with gold standard engraving and color case-hardened finish. Lori Desatoff Fund Is Inaugural Founding Endowment
The recently created NSSA-NSCA Endowment Committee is pleased to announce the establishment of its first Founding Endowment, the Lori Desatoff Endowment. Named in honor of the late Lori Higgins Desatoff, one of the most accomplished and influential Lady skeet shooters in NSSA’s history, the endowment was established by Lori’s family as a permanently restricted fund, with spendable proceeds used to benefit youth shooting and recognition of women in the sport. NSSA-NSCA Response to CA AB #2571
In observance of the recently passed California Assembly Bill #2571, NSSA-NSCA must cease all advertising and marketing activities directed at individuals 17 years and younger in California. This includes ceasing to distribute Clay Target Nation magazine, Target Talk/Target Talk Lessons newsletters, CTN Extra newsletter, event promotions, and other association communications to affected members. S. Hallock du Pont, Jr., of Vero Beach, Florida, and Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2021, after a lengthy illness. NSSA-NSCA Acquires Property Adjacent to NSC
On December 31, NSSA-NSCA completed the purchase of 23+ acres adjoining the National Shooting Complex that creates a buffer from development and helps protect the association’s investment in its San Antonio, Texas, property. The land purchase is an important investment in the future of the National Shooting Complex, preventing any type of encroachments of residential or commercial development adjacent to our property boundary. NSSA-NSCA Receives Funding Through PPP
The NSSA-NSCA is committed to continuing to provide timely, quality service to all of our members and member clubs through these challenging times. To that end, the NSSA-NSCA has applied for and received funding through the Payroll Protection Program (PPP) offered by the Small Business Administration (SBA) to provide resources that will be used to maintain staffing so that we can do just that. Shooting for Rewards Points Now Last Longer
Effective February 26, 2020, points earned in the Shooting for Rewards program for shooting registered targets won't expire for four years, doubling the time they can be redeemed. The Shooting for Rewards program allows NSSA-NSCA members to turn their registered targets into logo merchandise, shooting gear, and even shooting fees for events like the World Skeet Championships or National Sporting Clays Championship!
