Updated Ammo Policy for National Championship

The National Shooting Complex has updated its ammunition policy for the upcoming National Sporting Clays Championship to address availability issues: We have been working diligently with all of our ammunition sponsors to secure as much ammunition as possible for the National Sporting Clays Championship. Despite our efforts to ensure that we have enough ammunition on hand, we unfortunately WILL NOT have enough on site for everyone to purchase for everything they are planning to participate in. We have a great deal of ammunition on hand, but knowing the demand will be higher this year, we … [Read more...]

USA Teams to Forego World English, FITASC Events

After conversations with many of the USA Sporting Clays Team members, as well as discussions with the NSCA Executive Committee, the decision has been made not to send the USA teams to the 2021 World English Championship nor the 2021 World FITASC Championship this year. Their feedback regarding health, testing protocols, and quality of the experience led many team members to make the decision to forego the trips. The potential inability to fill out the entire USA teams was a major factor in coming to this decision. A few team members have expressed their intention to go to the 2021 World … [Read more...]

Winchester Ammunition announces the Winchester Ladies Cup, an all-new, season-long sporting clays competition designed specifically for ladies who shoot on the NSCA Championship Tour, Powered by Winchester. “A lot of thinking went into the Winchester Ladies Cup, and it started by looking at the current payout structure between the top men shooters and the top women shooters. There was a big difference in their earnings, with the payout to the female winners being significantly lower,” said Brett Flaugher, president of Winchester Ammunition. “The Winchester Ladies Cup is an opportunity to … [Read more...]

NSSA-NSCA Acquires Property Adjacent to NSC

On December 31, NSSA-NSCA completed the purchase of 23+ acres adjoining the National Shooting Complex that creates a buffer from development and helps protect the association’s investment in its San Antonio, Texas, property. The land purchase is an important investment in the future of the National Shooting Complex, preventing any type of encroachments of residential or commercial development adjacent to our property boundary. This investment received unanimous support from the joint NSSA-NSCA Finance Committee and the Executive Committee. “The NSSA-NSCA bought this property as a buffer … [Read more...]

New Sub-Gauge Classification Now in Effect

December 6, 2020 By Sherry Kerr

New Sub-Gauge Classification Now in Effect

Effective January 1, 2021, all designated sub-gauge events have a separate classification system. This is one class for all the sub-gauges combined, not a separate one for each gauge. A sub-gauge event will be defined as any event, except 16-gauge, that is not 12-gauge and that is smaller in diameter than 12-gauge. For these purposes, “12-gauge event” means any event designated as 12-gauge or any general event that doesn't specify gauge. In case a 16-gauge event is held, it will classify as a 12-gauge event. All shooters started the shoot year 2021 one class lower than their 2021 … [Read more...]
