Submit Nominations for NSCA Hall of Fame

Nominations are being accepted for 2022 inductions to the NSCA Hall of Fame. Any member in good standing may submit a candidate for consideration. The deadline for submission of nominations is February 28 for this year’s inductions. Induction into the Hall of Fame is the highest honor any sporting clays shooter can receive from the association. It’s time for NSCA clubs to renew your membership and register shoots for 2022. You must renew your membership before you can register shoots for 2022. By renewing your membership and registering your 2022 shoots soon, you can take advantage of two opportunities: Shoots registered by December 10 will be listed in the February issue of Clay Target Nation magazine. World English Sporting Clays Returns to NSC in 2022

The World English Sporting Clays Championship returns to the USA in 2022 when the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas, hosts the event. The event is planned for April 20-24, 2022. The tournament will feature a 200-target main sporting clays event, along with 100-target old-style FITASC, Super Sporting, NSCA 5-Stand, and various other side events, including sub-gauge and sub-gauge FITASC. South Central Regional Rescheduled, Relocated to Greater Houston

The South Central Regional Sporting Clays Championship has been rescheduled and relocated due to the devastation by Hurricane Ida at Covey Rise Gun Club, which was originally planned to host the event. Following the news that the club would be forced to cancel, the NSCA Executive Council held a conference call to discuss the options. Greater Houston Sports Club generously offered to host the Regional, and the Executive Council unanimously approved combining the 2021 South Central Regional with the prestigious Diamond Classic at Greater Houston. American Shooters Medal at World FITASC

Although the USA Sporting Clays/FITASC Teams did not travel to international competition as a team this year, a contingent of American NSCA shooters traveled to Hungary for the World FITASC Championship last week and have returned home with several medals. Joseph Fanizzi not only won the Junior Gold Medal as champion, but he won the Open runner-up Silver Medal, after tying France’s Gael Poinsot, Open Champion, in regulation competition. After conversations with many of the USA Sporting Clays Team members, as well as discussions with the NSCA Executive Committee, the decision has been made not to send the USA teams to the 2021 World English Championship nor the 2021 World FITASC Championship this year. Their feedback regarding health, testing protocols, and quality of the experience led many team members to make the decision to forego the trips. Krieghoff has generously donated a K-80 Suhl Scroll shotgun for NSCA's annual raffle to benefit the USA Sporting Clays Team and the NSSA-NSCA All-American Teams. The owner of the winning ticket will have a choice of a ProSporter, Sporter or Parcours (excluding 34" Parcours barrels and Parcours X). MSRP of the shotgun is $20,395. S. Hallock du Pont, Jr., of Vero Beach, Florida, and Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2021, after a lengthy illness. "Hal," to all who knew him, lived life to its very fullest, passionate about each and every one of his endeavors. His contributions and service to NSSA-NSCA were pivotal and unparalleled in the organization's history. The revised event schedule in 2020 meant that, for the first time, winners of the NSCA Championship Tour, Powered by Winchester, were not determined upon the finale of the National Sporting Clays Championship in October. The Southeast Regional Championship was held following the National Championship, December 9-13, finalizing the points race and determining winners.
