Following the 2017 National Sporting Clays Championship, competitors earning awards were given choices of trophies or gift cards. All award responses received by December 11 were sent to the trophy manufacturer for processing on December 12; those received after that date will be ordered in a second batch following the next deadline of January 22. NSCA End-of-Year Review Process
Each year in January, NSCA conducts a review of members' performance for the previous year to ensure that everyone will be competing in the most appropriate class in the coming year. When we run the end-of-year review, we look at your CCFR (Current Class Finish Ratio), which is how you finished in your end-of-year class, against all the other shooters in your end-of-year class at all the shoots you participated in during the year. Final Shots: Robert George Estes, Sr.
Our association was saddened to hear of the passing of Robert "Rob" George Estes, Sr., on December 17, 2017. Rob was an owner and served as CEO of Big Red Oak Plantation in Georgia from 2013 until his death. Rob was a dedicated supporter of NSCA and sporting clays who loved both the people and the sport. His love for the sporting clays community was immense, as was recognized in his active participation in numerous events despite his health decline. 2018-2019 National Delegates Elected
The slate of NSCA National Delegates for 2018-2019 have been elected and have agreed to serve. The number of National Delegate positions in each state or geographic region is determined by the number of members there. Several states did not fill every position available to them due to an inadequate number of candidates. Write-in candidates will fill some positions; whether a candidate was on the ballot or a write-in, he or she must have received at least five votes to be elected. SCTP/SASP Nationals at Cardinal Center
The 2017 Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) National Championships brought together competitive shooters, ages 8 to 23, from 32 states to compete for national titles in the shotgun disciplines of Skeet, Skeet Doubles, Sporting Clays, American Trap, Handicap Trap, Bunker Trap, and Trap Doubles. Pistol and rifle competitors competed for action steel-shooting titles in Rimfire Pistol, Centerfire Pistol, Iron Sight Rifle and Optics Rifle divisions.
