NSSA-NSCA Acquires Property Adjacent to NSC

NSSA-NSCA Acquires Property Adjacent to NSC

On December 31, NSSA-NSCA completed the purchase of 23+ acres adjoining the National Shooting Complex that creates a buffer from development and helps protect the association’s investment in its San Antonio, Texas, property. The land purchase is an important investment in the future of the National Shooting Complex, preventing any type of encroachments of residential or commercial development adjacent to our property boundary. This investment received unanimous support from the joint NSSA-NSCA Finance Committee and the Executive Committee. “The NSSA-NSCA bought this property as a buffer … [Read more...]

New Sub-Gauge Classification Now in Effect

December 6, 2020 By Sherry Kerr

New Sub-Gauge Classification Now in Effect

Effective January 1, 2021, all designated sub-gauge events have a separate classification system. This is one class for all the sub-gauges combined, not a separate one for each gauge. A sub-gauge event will be defined as any event, except 16-gauge, that is not 12-gauge and that is smaller in diameter than 12-gauge. For these purposes, “12-gauge event” means any event designated as 12-gauge or any general event that doesn't specify gauge. In case a 16-gauge event is held, it will classify as a 12-gauge event. All shooters started the shoot year 2021 one class lower than their 2021 … [Read more...]

COVID-19 Protocols for National Sporting Clays Championship

The NSCA and National Shooting Complex will implement a comprehensive list of COVID-19 protocols to reduce risks and prioritize the safety of our 2020 National Sporting Clays Championship participants, guests, vendors, and NSC staff. Below are the protocols we will follow: We will check the temperature of shooters going into Registration.  All shooters will receive a face mask and a small bottle of hand sanitizer in their goodie bag. Squads will be asked to maintain social distancing in the field, i.e., 6 feet between shooters waiting their turn to shoot.  We will minimize the … [Read more...]

2021-2022 National Delegates Elected

The election for NSCA National Delegates for 2021-2022 is now complete. The number of National Delegate positions in each state or geographic region is determined by the number of members there. Several states did not fill every position available to them due to an inadequate number of candidates. Write-in candidates will fill some positions; whether a candidate was on the ballot or a write-in, he or she must have received at least five votes to be elected. Elected candidates are highlighted on the results below. The new Delegates will serve beginning January 1, 2021. Thanks to … [Read more...]

Texas State Sporting Clays Shoot Canceled

June 29, 2020 By Sherry Kerr

Texas State Sporting Clays Shoot Canceled

With a worsening of the COVID-19 status of San Antonio and the National Shooting Complex over the past few days, we regret that we must cancel our plans to host the Texas State Sporting Clays Championship. The San Antonio area has seen a marked increase in COVID-19 cases recently, resulting in stricter local guidelines for events. Over the past 72 hours, a mandate from the mayor requires approval for large events, and Bexar County residents have been advised to stay at home. Also, two members of our NSC staff, as well as the spouse of an employee, have now tested positive for … [Read more...]

The NSSA-NSCA is committed to continuing to provide timely, quality service to all of our members and member clubs through these challenging times. Many of our clubs may qualify for PPP funding. We encourage clubs to contact their respective banks to see if they qualify and apply for both federal and state relief funding.
