The NSCA and National Shooting Complex will implement a comprehensive list of COVID-19 protocols to reduce risks and prioritize the safety of our 2020 National Sporting Clays Championship participants, guests, vendors, and NSC staff. 2021-2022 National Delegates Elected
The election for NSCA National Delegates for 2021-2022 is now complete. The number of National Delegate positions in each state or geographic region is determined by the number of members there. Several states did not fill every position available to them due to an inadequate number of candidates. Write-in candidates will fill some positions; whether a candidate was on the ballot or a write-in, he or she must have received at least five votes to be elected. Texas State Sporting Clays Shoot Canceled
With a worsening of the COVID-19 status of San Antonio and the National Shooting Complex over the past few days, we regret that we must cancel our plans to host the Texas State Sporting Clays Championship. The San Antonio area has seen a marked increase in COVID-19 cases recently, resulting in stricter local guidelines for events. Over the past 72 hours, a mandate from the mayor requires approval for large events, and Bexar County residents have been advised to stay at home. Hopkins Game Farm to Host Northeast Regional
NSCA is pleased to announce that Hopkins Game Farm in Kennedyville, Maryland, has been awarded the 2020 Northeast Regional Championship. The NSCA Executive Council voted and approved this change in venue earlier this week. M&M Sporting Clays announced earlier this month that due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions in place for New Jersey, they would not be able to hold the Northeast Regional this year as planned. NSSA-NSCA Receives Funding Through PPP
The NSSA-NSCA is committed to continuing to provide timely, quality service to all of our members and member clubs through these challenging times. To that end, the NSSA-NSCA has applied for and received funding through the Payroll Protection Program (PPP) offered by the Small Business Administration (SBA) to provide resources that will be used to maintain staffing so that we can do just that. NSCA Adds American Field Sporting to Portfolio
NSCA has entered into a two-year licensing agreement with American Field Sporting (AFS), adding a new game to the sporting clays portfolio. In this agreement, effective immediately, the NSCA classification system will be used, and all targets will be included in the total targets shot during the agreement years. Participants will be eligible for punches in alignment with all other NSCA disciplines. Competition will begin in 2020 in the U.S., as well as other locations worldwide. NSSA-NSCA Scholarship Funds Doubled for 2020
NSSA and NSCA have doubled their commitment to their scholarship programs and will each award four $5000 college scholarships this year to deserving members who will graduate from high school and start a four-year college program in 2020. The scholarships will be awarded based on academics, citizenship, and participation in NSSA or NSCA. Applicants must submit an application, a short essay, a transcript, and a letter of recommendation. The scholarships are paid incrementally by semester, and students must maintain a B average. Two NSCA Rule Changes Approved
NSCA National Delegates recently voted on two rule changes, and both were approved by a majority of the Delegates. Both rules will take effect on January 1, 2021 for the 2021 shoot year. The new rules and the vote count for each are: Rule #1 - Sub-Gauge Classification Creation of a separate Sub-Gauge Class System - Starting January 1, 2021, any sub-gauge event (defined as any event using a shotgun that is not 12-gauge and is smaller in diameter than 12-gauge) would have a separate class system.
